All the works on the site are fathered
by myself (for the time being), between various works constructed independently, as part of my journalism degree, or as a staff writer
I currently reside in London as a recent BA journalism graduate at City, University of London with specialised knowledge in broadcast journalism (TV, Radio, Online). On occasion, I’m also a professional wrestler and photographer
This site will be used as an exemplar of previous works whilst also providing a platform to creatively produce journalistic projects close to my loves and inspirations
The name ‘Vagabond 2000’ (stylised as ‘VAGABOND: 2XXX’) is derivative of several elements from my life. The son of a British expat, I was born on the small island of Phuket just off the coast of Thailand. We weren’t there long, moving up to Chiang Mai in rural North Thailand — which would be the first of many moves. Before arriving in London, I had moved countries thrice, moved cities and schools eight times, and moved house so often I’ve lost count. The nomadic lifestyle led to a sense of detachment from any singular place whilst absorbing every place and culture habited along the way. My expat father lived a similar life, as did all his friends. So when it came to founding Phuket’s first rugby team, my father and his friends sought to echo the experience shared amongst them and myself: The Phuket Vagabonds; whose name this site borrows from
The ‘2000’ reflects a culture that materialised after the turn of the century, one that saw a glorification of nu-metal and professional wrestling. The decade isn’t looked back upon fondly in terms if culture but nonetheless had a profound impact on me.
